Formatting USB flash drive for macOS on Ubuntu

  1. Using Gparted install:
sudo apt install gparted

2. Open GParted and select your flash drive on the top right dropdown.

3. Right click and click “Unmount” on all partitions in the drive.

4. Goto menu “Device” and select “Create Partition Table…”, choose “gpt” and click the “Apply” button.

5. Right click on unallocated space and click “New” and select fat32 on file system option like below then click the “Add” button.

6. Click the checkbox button on the top to apply all operation and wait.

7. Remove and re-insert the drive to access the new drive. Now it ready to use with the macOS device.
